Vintage Mid-Century Sterling Sycamore Helicopter Seed Necklace

This nature-inspired motif was very popular during the mid-century and was manufactured by ACo (Alvin Corporation), which was a prominent American silversmithing company. They were best know for fine sterling flatware patterns but also produced high-quality sterling silver jewelry such as this stunning necklace.This piece most likely dates from 1950s to the 1970s when botanical motifs and "biomorphic" modernist jewelry were highly popular in the United States. There is a rarity to this particular design in that this is a three-tiered, wide bib arrangement vs. the single seed pendants which are relatively common.
