Hallmarked on the side of the fob, there is a diamond-shaped imprint. Inside the diamond is a G * M, matching the registered mark of the classic Parisian jeweler Georges Morin (1874-1950). In the early 1900s, Parisian jewelers created pieces with flowing organic forms, stylized floral designs and abstract cutout aesthetics. This keychain is certainly abstract. The origin of this solid antique French silver is in the famous district of Paris, Rue Saint-Denis. Art Nouveau's finest with a handmade antique French link chain. This is not a modern link whatsoever. Every link is hand-formed, slightly oval, and securely soldered. The connector is a geometric, square-set connector with a raised central bead, which is a signature design of the times, early 20th-century French metalwork. 29g See photos for artist registration hallmark. Gemstone: Georges Morin was an accomplished German-born sculptor who lived and worked extensively in France. His large sculptures of bronze and ivory are highly collectible and the smaller objects, like this keychain, allowed for more accessible collecting of the period's style.
