In the 1980s and 90s, Sedona, Arizona, earned a reputation as a premier global hub for Southwestern art, wellness, and Native American culture. Wholesale jewelry distributors and regional souvenir companies jumped on the bandwagon by creating custom-labeled components. Mass-produced quartz watch heads with the name "Sedona" were made to give the timepieces local charm and a sense of place for tourists visiting the American Southwest. These watches were specifically made for souvenir and resort trade branding. The band and accents were made by local jewelry makers, trading posts, or regional assembly companies that built the multi-strand turquoise bead band and decorative silver panels around the pre-branded watch face. The small tumbled stones with a subtle dark matrix resemble those that come out of the Kingman Mine in Arizona. The watch bezel uses a mosaic composite inlay. The watch is in perfect working condition. There are no missing stones or cracks in the face of the watch. The battery was replaced in 8/2026 and should last a year. A memorable piece of Americana to remind you of the beauty of time. See photos for authentication. The band is approximately 7".
